More boats

Boat construction continued again today. With the school year winding down, students are either helping with the boats or beginning the monumental task of cleaning and organizing the shop. We have several students dedicated just to sorting bolts and nuts – for some reason they seem to enjoy it. We call it a Zen task. A few more photos of the boats today.

Radio

I’ve been making several versions of my bluetooth radio with lasercut frame. Each edition gets a little more streamlined, and I improve the finishing process and wire management. The one pictured below is for my brother Eden. It still needs its internals, which is something I can work on this week. I think the exterior came out well, and it is going to look very nice in his workshop. The paint is a Krylon satin red spraypaint, and the interior face is also a satin blue on the inside of a clear acrylic plate.

MinuteMan

Today I went flying with a member from the club in the Archer. We decided to head to Minuteman (6B6) and have brunch. It’s a great little airport, although a bit of a challenge coming in, as you need to descend to the runway after some tall trees. The food was very good, and the onsite airport staff were very helpful. Will definitely go back. Later in the afternoon, I watched Ukraine v Wales. A heartbreaking loss for the Ukrainians. Still thinking about Ferg.

Ferguson

Well, I stayed up all night with Ferguson. We sat together on the couch and watched movies. His breathing got lighter as the hours passed, and his feet began to go cold. Still, he hung in there all the way to 1pm, when we were able to get a vet appointment. We carried him into the vet and they had a table with a comfy white bed and blankets for him. Everything went peacefully and painless for the little guy. Going to miss him greatly. A few photos I dug up during the afternoon are below. Later in the evening Ash and I went to celebrate his life at Banks Fish House, which we enjoyed. RIP Ferguson the Frenchie

Downeast

After work today Ash and I went over the Downeast Cider Popup right on Boston Harbor. The view of the city is always beautiful there, and its a nice outside venue. I’m not a huge fan of cider, a little too sweet for me, I’m happy to enjoy a few and support the local business. This evening we noticed Ferg was looking worse than usual. He is not eating, and hasn’t had much to eat over the last few days. Also seems like he is struggling to hold himself up. We decided it was probably his time, and will contact our vet in the morning.
